State of mind

Description

This is how my mind looks like. No. Not too much beer or food yesterday evening.

It was a christmas eve different from all those before.
PLEASE READ and THINK about. Maybe this will come clear to you, too!

The first time in my life i went through the city of Wiesbaden at about 18:00. It's the time almost all the people go to the Christmasmess to their nearest church.
I finished with my work so i had to go home at this time.

But what i saw was the most memorable christmaseve i ever had. First i was lucky to get one of the last busses to get into the city. Some people were still in it. They looked sad or ill. Stared out the windows into the darkness, only lighted by some christmascandles or christmastrees.

Then i saw some homeless people, covered with some kind of christmasblanket. Freezing. Sleeping. Alone. An ambulance that hurried to load a patient.

I had to fetch my parents from the church. When i arrived the mess wasn't over yet. They sung "Oh come all ye faithful", got the mercy on christmas eve. I stood outside, just seeing the lights and hearing some muted sounds coming out of the church, seemingly supported by a choir.
Finally the "Oh du Fröhliche". That's probably the most sung choral on christmas eve in Germany.

Then the mess ended. I heard the people, then i smelled them. Finally i saw them coming out of the church's portal.
Happy, amazed and obviously concentrated on the meal and all the presents they should get now.

I never experienced a contrast as clear as i did yesterday.
Do the words "God is with you, God is with everybody" that are heard on every christmas mess really mean all the styled, happy people INSIDE the church, just as they feel?

Instead of thinking it's us the words mean we should think of all the people OUTSIDE who aren't able to have a merry christmas. Who have to help other people who are deadly ill. Those who are alone. Homeless or thrown out of the community out on the streets and dark places.

Go out on christmas eve. Just see and feel where the scale really tends to.

It changed me. Maybe it will change you, too.

I din't have my camera with me, so it's this photo that gives the feeling i had yesterday.
